Boston Children's Chorus Fundraiser Event FEATURING: The Kyle Miles Jazz Ensemble
Please join us for the 4th Annual Jazz Fundraiser featuring the Kyle Miles Jazz Ensemble. Come enjoy a wonderful afternoon of tantalizing jazz music and support the Boston Children's Chorus. This fundraiser was created four years ago by then 11-year-old Branden Miles, who wanted to make it possible for all members of the chorus to travel beyond Boston on concert tours. All proceeds raised from this event are donated to the Boston Children’s Chorus.
The Boston Children's Chorus is a multi-racial, multi-cultural arts organization bringing together children in grades 2-12 from Boston’s diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic communities to discover the power of singing together and to serve as ambassadors for their city. Through numerous performances at major local events, as well as on tour nationally and internationally, members of the Boston Children’s Chorus share their passion for musical excellence and artistry. The Chorus' mission is broad and ambitious: youth development, social healing and community building are the fundamental goals, and music is the powerful tool we employ for social change. Please visit their website for more information www.bostonchildrenschorus.org.
Our featured musician, Kyle Miles is a nineteen year-old up-and-coming electric and acoustic bassist in the Boston area. He's had the opportunity to play at many well-known venues such as the Reggatta Bar, Symphony Hall, the Berklee Performance Center, and Wally's Jazz Club in Boston. He's had the privilege of meeting and playing for many prominent people such as the Kennedy Family, Governor of MA Deval Patrick, President George Bush, Herbie Hancock, Teddy Pendergrass, and many others. He is a graduate of the prestigious Boston Latin School, and is currently attending Berklee College of Music as a Music Business major on a full-tuition scholarship, courtesy of the Berklee City Music Program. Although a business major, he hopes to continue his career as a relatively prominent professional musician, as well as become successful in the field of music business.
