The Regattabar and the Berklee College of Music have come together this summer to create a special Monday night courtyard series that is free and open to the public.
ARTIST BIO:
Italo Cunha, a jazz guitarist, composer, and arranger, was born and raised in Brasilia, Brazil. He comes from a musical family: His mother was a piano teacher and his aunt a classical pianist/teacher at the renowned Escola de Musica de Brasilia. Cunha started playing piano at the age of 4 and guitar when he was 9, studying with key figures in the Brazilian jazz scene such as Paulo André Tavares, Lula Galvão, and Nelson Faria. By the age of 12 he was performing at some of the major venues and festivals in Brazil. In 2007, he became the youngest person ever to receive a contemporary musical education degree from the Toque de Classe Institute. He currently attends Berklee on a scholarship. |
