Nineteen year-old pianist/keyboardist Steven Feifke is currently a sophomore at New York University, studying Jazz Performance and Math. Since being in New York,he has had the opportunity to collaborate with some of New York's finest musicians, such as Chris Potter, Brian Lynch, Jean-Michel Pilc, Dafnis Prieto, Don Friedman, Mike Richmond, Ralph Lalama, Rich Shemaria, Gil Goldstein, and Lenny Pickett to name a few.
Feifke has also amassed a large amount of performance experience, with both big bands and small combos alike. He has performed at esteemed venues such as the world famous Blue Note, Lincoln Center's Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, Boston's Symphony Hall, Catalina's Jazz Club in LA, New England Conservatory's Jordan Hall, Rockefeller Center in New York City, and The Regattabar in Boston.
Feifke is the two time recipient of the Berklee High School Jazz Festival Superior Musicianship Award, and has won other awards at the the Clark Terry UNH Festival, Manhattan School of Music's Charles Mingus Summit, and various IAJE Festivals. He has performed live as a part of the 2009 MENC All-Eastern Jazz Orchestra and the 2008&2009 MMEA All-State Jazz Ensembles.
This summer, Steven will be going on tour overseas with trumpet legend Brian Lynch to Latvia as part of the country's U.S.A. culture month.
