Inner Circle Music recording artist and Berklee College of Music voice faculty member, Aubrey Johnson brings her lush, pristine sound to a joyful set of her own compositions, and classic and contemporary Brazilian songs. Her unique ability to sing equally well as a lead vocalist and as a part of the horn section (singing wordless passages and improvising) puts her in an elite class of next-generation of jazz singers. She performs regularly as both leader and side-person; she is a member of the Lyle Mays Quintet and drummer Mark Walker’s Rhythm of the Americas Nonet, among others. Aubrey’s voice can be heard on Bobby McFerrin’s 2010 Grammy-nominated album VOCAbuLaries. She is set to release her debut album on Greg Osby’s record label, Inner Circle Music in 2012.
