SWING FOR SPRING: Svetlana & The Delancey Five featuring Nomad Dreams

SVETLANA & THE DELANCEY FIVE is "Breakfast at Tiffany's served at [a] 21st-century speakeasy" (Allan Young, New York Music Daily). Lead by the Svetlana, the "outstanding vocalist and songwriter" (Will Frieldwald, Wall Street Journal), this band has a remarkable affinity for "making Hot Jazz sound cool!" (BlueMonkMoods) "Prepare to swing and be moved!" (JazzLives) as Svetlana and the Delancey Five transport you to the carnival of sound, seamlessly moving from sophisticated tender tones to a rowdy "exuberant, foot-stomping music combining swing and pop-singer/songwriter sensibilities" (WPIX11TV) fit for the 21st century!

The band has headlined many sold-out shows in the US, from the premier venues such as the Blue Note and B.B. King's to packed underground New York speakeasies. The band has also toured internationally, appeared on various national and international TV programs, and landed features in numerous international news and music and lifestyle publications. Their record "Night at the Speakeasy" (produced by Guy Eckstine and featuring Wycliffe Gordon) has premiered among the "most added" on JazzWeek and CMJ Jazz Radio charts and received a 4-star rating from AllAboutJazz. Experience the "sweet and naughty" (JazzLives) magic in this special Swing For Spring show, featuring beloved swing classics as well as charismatic originals, and feel your pulse quicken and your hearts thaw out from the winter blues!

NOMAD DREAMS, a playful, joyful band, draws on many traditions and genres. Trailing from different corners of the world, the band was formed in Boston and carries the influence of all its members' origins, with quiet Russian lullabies, Middle Eastern tunes, African rhythms, French torch ballads and a Spanish penchant for drama. Their songs reveal by turns a sense of humor, glimpses of pain and darkness, and a kaleidoscope of different music styles they've picked up on the way. With thoughtful lyrics and breathy, lush vocals, they create a sound both refreshingly new and soothingly retro.
