The Unisphere project was born in Rio De Janeiro in June of 2016 . Mike Tucker and Dave Zinno were in Rio together and were offered a deal to record there for the Sputnik Phonograms label. Logistics proved to be difficult so Dave approached Whaling City Sound (a label he has recorded on many times) executive producer Neal Weiss. Neal agreed to get behind the project and record in the U.S.. Brazilian drummer Rafael Barata, Argentine pianist Leo Genovese and trumpeter Eric Bloom, all long time colleagues of Dave and Mike, were gathered to record in Feb 2016. The project consists of original music inspired by travels in Brazil and a few reimagined Brazilian classics. The result is a fresh, highly energetic music in which the musical communication is remarkable. Genovese is currently touring with Residente and will be replaced on this upcoming tour by Tim Ray on piano. Dave and Tim have worked together for years and Tim has seamlessly filled the chair ...adding his own unique artistry to the mix. The c.d.
